Opening Day!

Folks, it's officially springtime.  Never mind the persistent rain, or snow, or otherwise inclement weather – the grass is green, grills are aflame, and today is Major League Baseball's Opening Day!  What better time to roll out this blog, eh?

The name sums it up – Eat. Drink. Sports.  (Insert cavemanly grunt here.)  Tim, my co-host from another coast, and I will be chronicling all manner of manly things falling under the umbrella of eat/drink/sports.  Fret not, ladies, you are a vital part of our readership, and I'm sure our respective H's will chime in with their expert womanly opinions on how awesome we men are at grilling, drinking and sporting.  [Tim's H = Helina, or H(e); my H = Hazel, or H(a)]

In any case, we look forward to blogging about grilling recipes, manly foods such as donut burgers, beer reviews, etc.  And of course, we'll be offering a running (though by no means cohesive) commentary on all things sport-related.  By all things sports, I mean mostly baseball, fantasy baseball, and minor league baseball.  Minus the minor league stuff.  (Actually I may throw in some bits about the Long Beach Armada, which is affiliated with an independent baseball league, so that's about as minor as you could get.)

It's actually a very exciting time in sports – what with tonight's NCAA Basketball Championship Final, the NBA and NHL seasons winding down, the NFL draft coming up, and of course, the start of our annual 6-month love affair with baseball.

Here's to Opening Day!
